Cheap Diet Foods
Going on a diet is not unlike planning a budget, both require discipline and self-control, and now these two activities can be combined with cheap diet foods. One such cheap food diet recipe is paprika shrimp and green bean saute. Four cups of trimmed green beans; 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil; 1/4 cup of minced garlic; 2 teaspoons of paprika; 1 pound of peeled and deveined raw shrimp; 2 16 ounce cans of large butter beans; 1/4 cup of sherry vinegar; 1/2 teaspoon of salt;1/2 cup of chopped fresh parsley; and freshly ground pepper to taste are needed to prepare this dish. Bring one inch of water to a boil in a large saucepan, put green beans in a steamer basket, place in the pan, cover and steam until they are tender-crisp. In the meantime, heat oil in a large skillet, add garlic and paprika and cook, constantly stirring for about 20 seconds. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque. Stir in the beans, vinegar and salt; cook, stir occasionally, until heated through. Stir in 1/4 cup of parsley. Divide the green beans among 6 plates, topped with the shrimp mixture. Sprinkle with pepper and the remaining parsley.
Salads are tried and true cheap diet foods, and chopped salad al tonno is one shining example of that. This salad requires 1/4 cup of lemon juice; 3 tablespoons of extra-virgin olive oil; 1/2 teaspoon of garlic, freshly ground pepper to taste;
8 cups of chopped hearts of romaine; 2 medium diced tomatoes; 1/2 cup of sliced pimiento-stuffed green olives; and 2 6 ounce cans of drained chunk light tuna. Whisk lemon juice, oil, garlic salt and pepper in a large bowl, add romaine, tomatoes and olives; toss to coat. Add the tuna and toss once again. A quick and delectable sample of cheap diet foods.
